Spreading Ramadan Blessings, YBM BRILiaN Medan collaboration with Ummul Quro to Distribute Food Packages

MEDAN – In anticipation of the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan 1447 H, YBM BRILiaN Regional Office Medan continues to strengthen its commitment to spreading kindness. Through its Social & Humanitarian pillar, YBM BRILiaN distributed Bingkisan Ramadhan (Ramadan gift packages) to those in need within the Pengajian Ummul Quro (an Islamic study group) in Medan on Friday (February 13th).

This activity is a part of YBM BRILiaN’s annual program to ensure that the dhuafa (the underprivileged) can observe their fast with peace and prosperity. The distribution location, at the Ummul Quro Partner House, was chosen based on regional mapping results that demonstrated the urgency of food assistance for the congregation and surrounding residents.

Local Synergy for Targeted Accuracy

The distribution process was characterized by close collaboration between YBM BRILiaN representatives, Ramadhan volunteers, and the leadership of the Pengajian Ummul Quro. A total of 50 essential food packages,  valued at IDR 200,000 each, were handed out in an orderly and khidmat.

“We are carrying out this activity as a form of social responsibility to ease the burden on the community’s food needs. Furthermore, this is a way for us to strengthen ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) and foster a spirit of sharing within the community ahead of Ramadhan,” said a YBM BRILiaN representative on the sidelines of the activity.

Real Impact for Beneficiaries

Currently, partnerships with local community groups have proven highly effective in ensuring that aid is precisely targeted. A representative from the Pengajian Ummul Quro partnership expressed deep gratitude for this initiative.

“We are very grateful for this collaboration. This assistance means a lot to the congregation and the surrounding community, who really need support ahead of the fasting month,” he said.

Gratitude was also evident on the faces of the beneficiaries. One resident who received assistance said, “Alhamdulillah, this aid will greatly help our family’s needs during Ramadhan. Thank you, YBM BRILiaN.”
