MIGP Farmers in Kepuh Kemiri Experience Cost Efficiency in Production and Maintain Business Productivity
SIDOARJO — Targeted business assistance not only provides benefits at the time it is distributed but can also help beneficiaries reduce production costs in the long term. This has been experienced by 10 farmers who are members of the Mustahik Income Generating Program (MIGP) Sayur Kepuh Kemiri group in Tulangan, Sidoarjo Regency.
Based on the program’s progress, the farmers have begun to feel the impact of the assistance they received about nine months ago. Through the YBM BRILiaN Regional Office (RO) in Surabaya, the group received business capital support, equipment such as water pumps, LPG hoses, and gas cylinders, as well as guidance from an economic facilitator on Friday (August 21).
Saving Rp410,000 Per Harvest

The use of gas-powered pumps helps farmers reduce operational costs to around Rp190,000 per harvest. As a result, each farmer can save approximately Rp410,000 per harvest cycle.
After the program had been running for nine months, the cumulative savings were recorded at approximately Rp3,280,000 per farmer. When calculated for all 10 group members, the total savings amounted to Rp32,800,000.
These results demonstrate that providing business tools can generate recurring benefits when tailored to the beneficiaries’ needs. Savings on production costs give farmers greater flexibility to sustain their businesses while maintaining their family income.
“Thank you to the donors who have helped make this benefit possible,” said one of the farmers from Sayur Kepuh Kemiri.
Keeping Businesses Productive
The MIGP program does not stop at providing capital and business equipment. Mentoring sessions with facilitators play a crucial role in helping groups manage their businesses more effectively and sustainably.
Through economic empowerment initiatives like this, YBM BRILiaN strives to deliver the productive benefits of zakat. The assistance received today is expected to continue contributing to the beneficiaries’ business activities—helping to reduce costs, maintain productivity, and strengthen families’ economic independence.
