YBM BRILiaN Holds an Online Training Session and Book Discussion for Bright Scholarship Awardees in Jakarta
JAKARTA — The Bright Scholarship mentoring program, managed by YBM BRILiaN RO Jakarta 1, has resumed with two interactive activities. The program aims to hone students’ critical thinking skills while strengthening communication with the awardees’ families.
The mentoring activities began with the First Gathering for Bright Scholarship Batch 12 Awardees, held online on Saturday (October 10). The event was attended by 24 students from the University of Indonesia (UI) and Jakarta State University (UNJ), along with their parents. Nuryadi, Supervisor of YBM BRILiaN RO Jakarta 1, led the forum alongside facilitators Ibadh Dwi Satyo and Siti Alifia.
The meeting focused on introducing the mentoring program and aligning family support with the students’ academic journeys.

After Subuh Book Discussion at the UNJ Dormitory
Literacy capacity-building continued at the UNJ Bright Scholarship Batch 10 Dormitory on Wednesday (October 14). After the communal dawn prayer, the awardees carried out their weekly tradition of reading and presenting a book to their fellow dorm residents.
On this occasion, the book titled “The Demise of Experts in the AI Era” was chosen as the topic of discussion. The rapid development of artificial intelligence prompted participants to exchange views on the relevance of expert roles and the intellectual challenges facing humanity today.
Through the utilization of zakat funds from donors—particularly through the Bright Scholarship program—YBM BRILiaN facilitates a variety of development programs to support students’ intellectual and spiritual growth. It is hoped that this ongoing mentoring will help cultivate critical and adaptive thinking skills, as well as positive character traits among the awardees, preparing them to become future leaders.
