Kicking Off Their Journey as Awardees, Bright Scholarship Batch 12 Students Attend Their First Orientation Session
PEKANBARU — The journey as recipients of the 12th Batch of the Bright Scholarship has officially begun. The YBM BRILiaN Regional Office (RO) in Pekanbaru welcomed the students with a reception and a commitment signing ceremony.
The event took place on the 5th floor of the BRI Tower in Pekanbaru on Monday (October 5). The choice of location was part of an effort to strengthen the synergy between YBM BRILiaN and BRI as its parent institution. The event was attended by the management and staff of the Pekanbaru RO, educational facilitators, and the Batch 12 awardees.
Understanding Rights and Responsibilities as Scholarship Recipients
During the orientation session led by the facilitators, the scholarship recipients received an explanation of their rights, obligations, and responsibilities as recipients of the Bright Scholarship.
Next, the students recited a pledge as awardees and signed the scholarship commitment. The YBM BRILiaN Pekanbaru Regional Office Board of Directors witnessed this ceremony.
The signing marked the awardees’ commitment to fulfilling their mandate and participating in the entire series of mentoring programs.
Cultivating Intent as the Foundation of Mentoring
In addition to the orientation and the signing of the agreement, the students participated in their first mentoring session. Sutrisno Badroen, Supervisor of YBM BRILiaN RO Pekanbaru, delivered a presentation on the theme of “Intention.”
This session encouraged the awardees to clarify their intentions regarding their education and participation in the program. With good intentions, every learning process is expected to yield broader benefits.
Through its productive zakat program in the field of education, YBM BRILiaN provides support in the form of payment for the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) and a monthly stipend. The awardees also participate in structured mentoring sessions every month.
This support helps students meet their educational needs while developing their personal potential. As a result, they can balance their academic studies with their mentoring sessions.

The opportunity to join the Bright Scholarship program has been met with a positive response from the students. A representative of the awardees expressed pride and gratitude for the trust placed in them by YBM BRILiaN.
