YBM BRILiaN Distributes Rice Aid to Islamic Boarding School Students in Langkat

LANGKAT — To ease the operational burden on Islamic boarding schools in remote areas, the YBM BRILiaN Regional Office (RO) in Medan distributed rice aid to the students. The event took place at the Dayah Darul Maarif Quranic School (TPQ) in Serang Jaya Village, Pematang Jaya Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, on Saturday (October 24).
The aid distribution involved the YBM BRILiaN team working directly with the management of TPQ Dayah Darul Maarif. The team’s arrival was warmly welcomed by the teachers and dozens of students residing at the boarding school.
Supporting Food Security in Remote Islamic Boarding Schools
Dayah Darul Maarif is home to dozens of students, the majority of whom come from low-income families. Limited operational funds have forced the boarding school to rely on support from the local community to meet the students’ daily food needs.
In response to this situation, YBM BRILiaN distributed 823 kg of rice to ensure the students’ food supply is adequately met. It is hoped that this sufficient food supply will support the students’ basic needs so they can engage in their daily learning activities more effectively. The rice for the students was sourced from local suppliers to ensure efficient distribution while also supporting the local economy.
Through the support of zakat payers and donors, YBM BRILiaN hopes that the distribution of zakat and infaq will continue to benefit Islamic boarding schools, support the fulfillment of students’ food needs, and bolster the education of the younger generation of Muslims.
