Palembang Joins Mid-Sha‘ban Night of Blessing: 480 Orphans and Underprivileged Children Recite Qur’an in YBM BRILiaN’s “Sya‘ban Berkah” Program

PALEMBANG — A solemn atmosphere enveloped eight venues across South Sumatra and Jambi on Monday night (2 February 2026) as hundreds of orphans and underprivileged children jointly recited the Yasin chapter of the Holy Qur’an to observe the mid-Sha‘ban night. Falling on 15 Sha‘ban 1447 H, the moment was marked by YBM BRILiaN Regional Office Palembang through its “Sya‘ban Berkah: A Gift for One’s Parents” program—an initiative blending spiritual devotion with social care.
The gatherings ran concurrently in the cities of Palembang and Jambi as well as Ogan Ilir Regency, reaching 480 beneficiaries in total. Events were hosted at Peduli Anak Yatim Orphanage, MASIUN Children’s Shelter, Al-Ilham Orphanage, Warrohmah Orphanage, Amanah Orphanage, Fatmawati South Sumatra Orphanage, Indralaya Dormitory, and Jambi Dormitory.
Each program opened with a communal iftar, followed by a special supplication for parents and the collective recitation of Surah Yasin three times. Directors, caregivers, and children sat side-by-side, invoking divine forgiveness and blessings on a night regarded by Muslims as especially meritorious.
Beyond the spiritual segment, YBM BRILiaN distributed food-and-beverage packages to every participant. The shared meals fostered a warm ambience, turning the mid-Sha‘ban observance into both a devotional ritual and an opportunity to strengthen communal bonds.
Ms. Sari, caretaker at Peduli Anak Yatim Orphanage, voiced her appreciation: “Alhamdulillah, thank you to YBM BRILiaN and all donors for bringing this mid-Sha‘ban program to our orphanage. May Allah continually bless the donors and answer every prayer offered tonight. Aamiin.”
Through “Sya‘ban Berkah”, YBM BRILiaN reiterates its commitment to managing and channeling zakat, infak, and sedekah (alms and charitable donations) in a sustainable manner. The mid-Sha‘ban moment serves as a reminder that the power of prayer and social responsibility can advance hand-in-hand, generating widespread benefit for society.
