Commemorating Nuzulul Qur’an: YBM BRILiaN RO Pekanbaru Spreads Kindness Across Three Districts
PEKANBARU – The spiritual momentum of Nuzulul Qur’an—the commemoration of the day the Holy Qur’an was first revealed—has served as a powerful catalyst for the spirit of giving at YBM BRILiaN Regional Office (RO) Pekanbaru. Through the “One Ramadan for All” program, the team reached across three different districts in Pekanbaru to distribute vital assistance on Friday (06/03).
YBM BRILiaN strategically selected three primary locations as distribution hubs: the Musa’adah Mosque in Lima Puluh District, the Al-Husaini Mosque in Tampan District, and the Al-Ali Mosque in Marpoyan Damai District. By targeting these diverse areas, the program ensured that the benefits reached a wider and more equitable cross-section of the Pekanbaru community in need.
As part of this Nuzulul Qur’an series, YBM BRILiaN channeled a total of Rp65,850,000 in aid. These funds were transformed into 132 sembako (essential food staple) packages for the dhuafa—those who are economically disadvantaged—and 32 THR (festive holiday allowances) packages for orphans. The presence of fundraising staff and Ramadan volunteers ensured that the handover process for all 170 beneficiaries was conducted with order and dignity.
The evening’s activities commenced with Tarawih (special congregational prayers held during Ramadan), followed by a religious lecture on the virtues and significance of the Qur’an. The atmosphere turned deeply moving during the donation session for orphans and the distribution of food packages in the mosque courtyards. Mosque officials in attendance, including Pak Jaswar Koto, Ustadz Mafra, and Bapak Rice Silva, warmly welcomed this strategic collaboration.
“This initiative is incredibly meaningful for us as mosque administrators, and especially for the beneficiaries within our neighborhood. We hope this collaboration continues to provide sustainable benefits for the community members who need it most,” expressed one of the mosque officials with profound gratitude.
Reflecting on the process, the success of this action was the result of intensive mosque-to-mosque socialization previously conducted by the YBM BRILiaN team. This synergy proves that the mosque is not only a center for ritual worship but also a hub for the welfare of the ummah (the community). Beyond the act of giving, this program is expected to strengthen the bonds of ukhuwah—the spirit of brotherhood—between philanthropic institutions, mosque administrators, and the congregation. Guided by the spirit of the Qur’an, YBM BRILiaN remains committed to being a sturdy bridge of kindness for all levels of society.
