YBM BRILiaN Banjarmasin Supports the Health of Students at MI Al Ihsan Amid the Haze Emergency
BANJAR — The smoke from forest fires has disrupted learning activities for students at Al Ihsan Elementary School (MI) in Pematang Panjang Village, Sungai Tabuk Subdistrict, Banjar Regency. In response to this situation, the YBM BRILiaN Regional Office (RO) in Banjarmasin distributed 250 “Healthy Kid” packages on Monday (August 24).
The school’s was selected as one of the distribution points because it is located in an area affected by the smoke emergency. In addition to disrupting daily activities, exposure to smoke is also a concern for the health of students and teachers during the teaching and learning process.
Supporting the Health of 250 Beneficiaries
A total of 250 “Healthy Kid” packages, valued at Rp7,500,000, were distributed to help maintain the students’ health. The packages consisted of masks, milk, vitamins, and honey.
Habiburrahman, the YBM BRILiaN RO Banjarmasin supervisor, attended the distribution event alongside school officials, teachers, and students from MI Al Ihsan. The team’s presence was warmly welcomed by the entire madrasah community.
School officials explained that smoke from forest fires in the surrounding area had also affected the madrasah’s environment. The provision of these health supplies was seen as helping students cope with their learning activities amid poor air quality.
“May this be a blessing for all of us,” said the Acting Principal of MI Al Ihsan as he expressed his appreciation for the support provided.
Maintaining the Learning Process Amid the Smoke Emergency
For YBM BRILiaN, the response to emergency conditions is not only focused on meeting basic needs but also on groups requiring greater protection, including school-age children.
Through the distribution of “Healthy Kid” packages, YBM BRILiaN’s Banjarmasin Regional Office hopes to ensure students’ health is maintained so that learning activities can continue more safely. This initiative is also part of a collective effort to help the community navigate the smoke emergency in Kalimantan.
