YBM BRILiaN Distributes 20,000 Liters of Clean Water and Provides Psychosocial Services to Earthquake Survivors in NTT

Nagekeo, NTT — Responding to the urgent needs of earthquake survivors in NTT, the Yayasan Baitul Maal BRILiaN (YBM BRILiaN) visited several evacuation sites in Nagekeo Regency on August 23. This time, the team focused on providing clean water and initial psychological (psychosocial) support to children and affected residents.

Clean Water Supplied to Seven Sites

The availability of clean water is an urgent priority to support daily consumption needs and maintain sanitation for earthquake survivors in NTT. In this disaster response effort, YBM BRILiaN distributed a total of 20,000 liters of clean water, benefiting 499 people. The clean water aid was widely distributed to 7 locations in Nagekeo Regency, namely:

Location 1–3: Kampung Makitonggung, Mbay II Subdistrict, Aesesa District (reaching 71 people).
Location 4: Ngegedhawe Village, Aesesa Subdistrict (25 people).
Location 5: Waikokak Village, Aesesa Subdistrict (243 people).
Location 6: Kampung Keda, Ngegedhawe Village, Aesesa Subdistrict (80 people).
Location 7: KampungRoe, Ngegedhawe Village, Aesesa Subdistrict (85 people).

Bringing Smiles to Children’s Faces Through Psychosocial Services

YBM BRILiaN does not only focus on meeting physical logistical needs but also provides psychosocial services to support the mental and emotional well-being of affected residents, particularly vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.

Centered in Lape Subdistrict, Aesesa District, this integrated relief effort targets 130 beneficiaries, consisting of 30 adults and 100 children. As part of this initiative, 100 food packages were distributed to support the children’s psychosocial activities, along with 15 basic food packages to help meet the food needs of affected families.
