To Promote Literacy Awareness, YBM BRILiaN Hosts a Book Picnic at an Orphanage in Pekanbaru

PEKANBARU — A warm atmosphere and the children’s enthusiasm marked the educational activities and basic food supply distribution organized by the YBM BRILiaN Pekanbaru Regional Office (RO) on Monday (September 28). The event focused on a children’s literacy gathering as well as the distribution of basic food supplies to a total of 120 children across four orphanages.

The distribution of aid was directly supervised by the daily management of the YBM BRILiaN Pekanbaru RO together with the Bright and Smart Scholarship awardees. The team’s arrival on-site was warmly welcomed by the orphanage administrators and all the children in their care.

Literacy Education Through a Book Picnic
The series of events began with a Book Picnic activity with the scholarship recipients. The scholarship recipients accompanied the children as they read books and studied together.

After the educational session, the team distributed dozens of books as well as daily basic food supplies evenly among the recipients. The aid was distributed to the As-Shohwah Orphanage, the Darul Ilmi Orphanage, the Rahmat Nur Hidayat Orphanage, and the Putra Harapan Orphanage.

Appreciation from the Administrators and Hopes for the Future
The orphanage administrators expressed their appreciation for YBM BRILiaN’s concern for the children’s development and well-being.

“This activity is very beneficial for the children. It has made them more aware of the importance of literacy. We would like to thank the donors for their support,” said Nazri, a representative of the As-Shohwah Orphanage.
