To Foster a Spirit of Leadership, YBM BRILiaN Holds a Leadership Outbound Program for Bright Scholarship Recipients
SURABAYA — The YBM BRILiaN Surabaya Regional Office (RO) held a Leadership Outbound program for Bright Scholarship recipients on Saturday (Oct. 24). The event took place at two locations: the Wonorejo Mangrove Nursery for awardees from batches 9, 11, and 12, and Taman Prestasi for awardees from batch 10.
The event aimed to foster a spirit of leadership, strengthen bonds among participants, and welcome the 12th batch of scholarship recipients to the YBM BRILiaN RO Surabaya community.
Educational Exploration and Capacity Building
The series of events began at 8:30 a.m. with an official opening and group photo session. The awardees at the Mangrove Nursery participated in an exploration of the area to learn about various coastal plants and their ecological functions.
Participants also listened to a presentation on Social Leadership delivered by guest speaker M. Sadid An-Naafi. The speaker explained how to manage social activities in a structured manner, from the planning stage through to evaluation.
Social Work Program Design Workshop
The event continued with mini-workshop sessions organized by group. Each group developed ideas for work programs focused on solutions to social issues in the community.
Participants then took turns presenting the results of their discussions and provided feedback to one another. The event concluded with remarks and messages from participant representatives.
Appreciation for the Program and Institutional Commitment
Program facilitator Utik Maulida shared her views on the implementation of this capacity-building agenda.
“This joint training was conducted to foster bonding, to create a stronger sense of togetherness, and to introduce the Batch 12 as well,” she said.
