BOYOLALI — The long-standing shortage of clean water that has plagued residents of Winong Village, Boyolali Regency, is now showing signs of improvement. YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta officially launched the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program in the area on Thursday (September 17) to provide sustainable access to clean water and adequate sanitation.

Boyolali Regent Agus Irawan attended the launch ceremony in person alongside YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta Director Didik Gunawan Prasetyo and BRI Boyolali Branch Office Head Grievan Dwi Okta.

A Real Solution to Address Clean Water Shortages

Limited access to clean water and daily sanitation facilities was the main reason Winong Village was selected as the program location. Using zakat and infaq funds contributed by muzakki and donors, YBM BRILiaN constructed a borehole well, installed piping, and built other supporting infrastructure.

The series of events began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the clean water facility, the unveiling of a plaque supporting zakat utilization, testing the flow of water from the deep well, and the distribution of gift packages to local residents. This infrastructure is designed to improve environmental health and community well-being.

Institutional Synergy and Local Government Appreciation

The Boyolali Regency Government welcomed this initiative positively, as it is seen as directly addressing the fundamental problems faced by residents on the ground.

“Thank you to BRI and YBM BRILiaN for constructing these deep wells. We hope these facilities will be of great benefit to the surrounding community,” said Agus Irawan, Regent of Boyolali.

YBM BRILiaN reaffirmed its commitment to continue channeling the benefits of zakat to those in need.

“We are distributing the ZIS contributions from BRI employees so that the benefits are felt widely and sustainably,” said Didik Gunawan Prasetyo, Head of YBM BRILiaN’s Yogyakarta Regional Office.

Similar appreciation was expressed by representatives of the beneficiaries at the local level.

“We are deeply grateful for the support in providing clean water to the residents of Dukuh Manggis RT 1. May this water source become a lasting asset,” added Ivan Irfianto, a representative of the Winong WASH group.

Through this program, YBM BRILiaN hopes that access to clean water will continue to bring blessings and have a positive, sustainable impact on the health and productivity of Boyolali residents.
