SURABAYA— YBM BRILiaN has once again expanded its social outreach by organizing a health program for the community. This mass circumcision event was held at Langgar Wakaf Mas’adah, Jalan Sidodadi III, Surabaya, on Sunday (October 4).

The event was attended by YBM BRILiaN Surabaya Regional Office Executive Moch. Hendrayanto, Supervisor Maya Dwi Marina, Chairman of the Langgar Wakaf Mas’adah Management Board Moch Irfan, Chairman of the Mass Circumcision Organizing Committee Ivan Zainul Manan, and medical representatives. A total of 100 children from underprivileged families enthusiastically participated in this health service program.

Smooth Execution and Symbolic Handover of Circumcision Kits
The event began with a series of remarks, starting with a report from the Executive Chairperson, followed by remarks from the YBM BRILiaN RO Surabaya Board Member, and concluding with medical guidance from Dr. Ali. The warm atmosphere grew even stronger when the symbolic handover of the circumcision packages to the beneficiaries was conducted directly by the Supervisor and the Management of YBM BRILiaN RO Surabaya.

During this event, participants received safe medical care as well as a complete circumcision package consisting of a bag, a muslim shirt (koko), a sarong, and pocket money. This program was designed to ease the financial burden on parents while providing access to quality healthcare for children from underprivileged families.

Medical Education and the Institution’s Message of Compassion
On this occasion, Dr. Ali provided important guidance regarding the post-procedure recovery process to the parents accompanying their children.

“There are two things to note regarding post-circumcision healing: first, if there is a change in color, just let it be because that is a common occurrence; second, the wound should only be cleaned using wet wipes without adding anything else, such as powder, oil, or other substances. “After a child is circumcised, there are no dietary restrictions, so he advised that the child may eat anything as long as he or she is not allergic to the food,” he said.

Parents’ Appreciation and Commitment to the Continuation of Zakat
This social health program received a warm welcome and deep gratitude from the participating parents. One parent representative from Wonoayu, Sidoarjo, who benefited from the program, expressed her joy.

“Thank you—finally, my child has been circumcised. May he continue to stay healthy.”

Meanwhile, Moch. Hendrayanto emphasized in his remarks that this initiative is a tangible manifestation of the distribution of zakat funds entrusted by BRI employees across Indonesia.

“May the children who were circumcised today recover quickly and, in the future, grow up to be pious and be of benefit to those around them,” he said.

YBM BRILiaN remains committed to continuing to spread widespread benefits through its various program pillars. May this act of kindness continue and bring blessings and benefits to the wider community.
