To Strengthen Business Independence, YBM BRILiaN Holds the MIGP Exit Program for Pomfret Fish Farming in Prambanan

YOGYAKARTA — The YBM BRILiaN Regional Office (RO) in Yogyakarta held the Exit Ceremony for the Mustahik Income Generating Program (MIGP). The event took place in Prambanan, Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (September 2).
This event marked the end of the mentoring period for the pomfret fish farming business and is intended to prepare the beneficiaries to manage their fishing businesses independently.
Supervisor, facilitators, and all group members attended the event. The participants welcomed the program’s conclusion with great enthusiasm.
Empowering Mustahik Through Pomfret Fish Farming
Prambanan possesses highly strategic fisheries potential as a source of income for residents. YBM BRILiaN selected beneficiaries who demonstrated a strong commitment to developing their businesses.
This approach transforms consumptive zakat into sustainable, productive empowerment capital. Participants received business capital, equipment, and regular technical guidance.
Throughout the program, facilitators equipped participants with skills ranging from feed management to harvest procedures. This guidance successfully boosted the household incomes of group members.
Promoting Business Independence and Community Well-being
Members’ harvest yields and incomes showed significant increases during the mentoring period. Completion of the program demonstrates the participants’ readiness to continue their businesses independently.
“The MIGP program encourages beneficiaries to have the confidence to build their own businesses. This momentum proves that zakat can provide sustainable benefits,” said a facilitator from YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta.
Moving forward, the Mustahik Income Generating Program is expected to bring broader and more sustainable benefits. The institution also continues to optimize the zakat and infaq it receives to achieve economic self-reliance for the community.
