YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta Officially Marks the Self-Sufficiency of Two Empowerment Business Groups in Klaten

KLATEN — Concrete steps toward poverty alleviation based on local potential continue to yield results in Klaten Regency. YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta officially held the Exit Mustahik Income Generating Program (MIGP) for two beneficiary business groups on Friday (September 11). This event marked the transition to economic self-reliance for the Ngudi Berkah Red Chili Farmers’ Group and the Asy-Syifa Honeybee Farming Group.
The event, held in Klaten, was attended by the YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta supervisor, supporting facilitators, and all members of both groups.
Strengthening Local Potential and Evaluating Independent Businesses
The selection of the red chili horticulture and honeybee farming sectors was based on the proven strategic potential of the Klaten region. Through the distribution of productive zakat from BRI employees, YBM BRILiaN provides business capital support, production equipment, and training in management from upstream to downstream. This Exit Program
activity serves as a final evaluation of the beneficiaries’ technical and operational proficiency.
The Ngudi Berkah Chili Farmers’ Group has now mastered environmentally friendly cultivation techniques and efficient marketing strategies. Meanwhile, the Asy-Syifa Honeybee Group has successfully developed the skills to manage a honeybee farming business professionally and sustainably.
Appreciation and Business Self-Reliance
The series of events culminated in a symbolic handover of the program’s “self-reliance” token from YBM BRILiaN RO Yogyakarta to representatives of both groups. This handover underscored the success of transforming beneficiaries into resilient, independent entrepreneurs in their communities.
A deep sense of gratitude and high enthusiasm radiated from the group members, who are now ready to manage their businesses sustainably.
“The MIGP program provides very beneficial support in the form of capital and beekeeping knowledge. We are now much more confident in managing our businesses independently to improve our families’ well-being,” said one of the group members.
Through the targeted management of zakat contributions from donors, YBM BRILiaN is committed to continuing to replicate this community-based economic empowerment model in various regions to foster community self-reliance.
